 Tricentennial Project Campaign
2005-2006

The Albuquerque Historical Society, founded in 1947, is an integral part of the celebration of the 300 years of this city.   The Tricentennial celebration will run from April, 2005 to October, 2006.  We are embarking on a fund-raising venture to assist with the goals and needs of the organization at this exciting time. We are involved in five projects which will bring visibility and interest to our organization and which will benefit our community. They will provide information regarding the historical resources of the city, educational organization programming and a legacy to future generations with the taping of lectures by outstanding scholars brought in for the Tricentennial Speakers Program Series. The details of these projects and the needs follow. We welcome any donation, including sponsorship of an entire project, if desired:  

*Assisting in sponsorship of the “Albuquerque Tricentennial Archive” to document the entire event for future researchers into city history.  It will be located in a local repository ($2500.00)  

*Assisting with the maintenance cost of the organizational website which is now up and running but has monthly fees to maintain www.albuqhistsoc.org ($500.00) 

*Assisting with the Video taping costs of the 18 programs for the Tricentennial series of the Albuquerque Historical Society based on the monthly themes which have been established by the Tricentennial Committee.  The coordinators of the Tricentennial will be filmed at the beginning of the celebration and for a wrap-up commentary for a total of 20 tapes to be professionally produced. ($5000.00) 

*Assisting with the cost of the production of “An Albuquerque Bibliography” to document research resources of Albuquerque. The plan is for a run of 1000 limited edition copies of 100+ pages to be published in early 2006. ($15,000.00) 

*Assisting with the duties and responsibilities of acting as the host organization to the New Mexico Historical Society in April, 2006 ($1500.00)

The videotaping of the speakers programs will have an announcement of sponsors and your sponsor designation will be cited in a program of your choice. 

On the AHS website, all donations will be cited and it is linked regionally and statewide. 

One acknowledgement per $100 donation/sponsorship guarantees a copy of the limited edition title,   “An Albuquerque Bibliography” but any amount is gratefully accepted.
